3.9 Commercial or industrial connections (400Amps and below)
You are responsible for:
Minimum space
- Providing a minimum space as shown on the drawing(s) provided with your Quote to accommodate the metering and service termination equipment with safe and adequate access required at all times. Please refer to the Drawing Schedule in the Quote.
Service intake cupboards
- Where services and/or distribution boards are installed in cupboards You must provide and install a Fire Brigade FB2 mortice lock to secure the cupboards.
Ducts
- The supply and installation of 125mm internal diameter black twin-walled high density polythene ducting (Ridgiduct) (Polypipe Civils Product Code RB125) or alternative as specified on the drawing attached to the Quote, to accommodate the incoming mains cables unless site circumstances dictate the use of steel pipes are required (refer to section 3.2 Ducts).
Any ducts installed below finished ground level must be laid and terminated in accordance with the Engineering Construction Standard ECS 02-0019 (Installation of underground cables - LV to 132kV).
The Electricity Supply (Amendment) Regulations 1998
- If You wish to make use of the earth terminal the electrical installation must comply with the requirements of The Electricity Supply (Amendment) Regulations 1998. The cross sectional area (csa) of the main equipotential bonding conductor must be of stranded copper and must be related to the size of the service cable. The maximum prospective earth fault loop impedance for UK Power Networks network is also related to the size of the service cable.
Combined Neutral & Earth (CNE) cables to a PME system
- You are responsible for informing the electrical contractor that their development will be connected by Combined Neutral & Earth (CNE) cables to a PME system, unless otherwise stated in the Quote.
